mrs. koplin i have a question: for tonights homework (sept 5- taxi fares work sheet) it says the first 1/4 mile is $2.25. then it is .65 cents for each additional 1/4 mile. does that mean that the price per 1/4 is now $2.90 or the price is $0.65?????

Hi Jacob,
When you get in the taxi you must pay $2.25 for the first 1/4 mile. Then as you travel you will pay only $0.65 for each additional mile.
So if you travel 2/4 mile you would pay 2.25 for the 1st 1/4 then add on 0.65 for the next 1/4 mile.
