Rdg/LA Syllabus: Week of February 4
THE CAY
Important Information:
• Conference confirmations went home last week with your child- please contact me with any questions about your conference time.
• Our fifth reading log is due on Wednesday, February 6
• Students must have a Ziploc bag for their novels- they may purchase one for 25 cents.
• We will begin writing a persuasive essay this week. A typed, rough draft is due on Thursday, February 7. The final persuasive draft is due by Friday, February 15.
Monday, February 4
Introduce persuasive writing assignment, discuss introduction, and complete prewriting
The Cay Vocabulary Chapters 6-15
Read The Cay Ch. 7 and complete comprehension questions for 6 & 7
Homework: Read The Cay Chapter 8. Write persuasive essay introduction and first paragraph.
Tuesday, February 5
Read The Cay Ch. 9 and complete comprehension questions for 8 & 9
